The Institute for Medieval History at the University of Cologne covers European History from 500 to 1500. The members of staff have a broad range of research interests, involving traditional approaches as constitutional and ecclesiastical history or history of law, but also current trends as material history or digital humanities. This broadness ensures a diversified range of teaching and provides the opportunity for students to get acquainted with all facets of the Middle Ages.
